I worked on this project while working in the MIT Media Lab under Dr Sang-won Leigh and Prof Pattie Maes.
The robot is comprised of a number of modular building blocks that can be reconfigured at will in order to augment the wearer's capability for a given task.
My roles included hardware design and manufacture, embedded circuitry inclusion and micro-controller programming assistance. We extensively explored various construction techniques, and ended up with a design that included Multi-Jet Modelling additive manufacturing, the world's smallest commercial micro-controller and a single action electro-mechanical join designed in-house.
For more detail have a look at my practical training report below.
This project was done in collaboration with Kush Parekh and Bill Peebles under the supervision of Dr Sang-won Leigh. See more of his awesome work here.
